This is crazy. Google is now asking your customers to snitch on you.
Some users are seeing this question, does this business offer rewards in exchange for reviews? So if you're giving people discounts, gifts, or freebies for leaving a Google review, you need to stop.
Google reviews are extremely important for rankings and conversions, but incentivizing reviews is against Google's guidelines. In the best case, incentivized reviews just get removed.
In the worst case, your Google Business Profile could get suspended. So don't buy or incentivize reviews.
What you should do is ask every customer, make it easy with a review link and just let them leave an honest review. There's an awesome free tool that will generate a short review link and QR code for asking for Google reviews.
So save this post and let me know if you want a link to that tool.
You see a bad business review come in and you immediately freak out. You're about to do one of two things.
Both are freaking wrong. Step one, before you respond, audit the review against Google's 11 different review policy categories.
Most owners don't even know these exist. Last month, I had a builder come to me.
They had this one-star review. Not gonna lie, it was a shocker, but it was a total fabrication from some salty competitor.
And the reviewer named themselves in the text. That's a Google policy violation.
So we flagged it with the policy citation team and Google pulled it in 48 hours. His rating jumped from 4.5 to 4.8, and the bookings, they started coming back in.
Now, if the review was real, you still need to respond, but in three sentences only. Acknowledge what happened, give the context, and then tell them to call or email you directly.
Do not defend. That might be your first instinct, kind of mine.
Don't argue. Three sentences and you're done.
I see a ton of business owners struggle with Google reviews. So I built an AI prompt that does both for you...

We just solved the reason for your missing Google reviews. We've dug through all the recent analysis can tell you exactly what's going on.
Google's AI is deleting millions of Google reviews. These are the most common patterns that are AI is looking for.
1, getting lots of reviews all from the same location. 2, getting lots of reviews mentioning a specific employee's name.
And 3, getting a burst of reviews all on the same day and then getting no reviews for a long time. Missing reviews are frustrating, and there's 30 possible reasons why they might be going missing.
Drop a comment below if you want me to send you that list of reasons.
This is how you get more Google business reviews for your business. All you have to do is open up your Google Business Profile in Google Search.
Then you're gonna see that there's a button that says ask for reviews. Click on that button over there.
The first thing that you're gonna see is a Q R code. You can use a Q R code and when people scan it they go to the review section.
But I like the shortened URL. It's great.
All you have to do is copy it and share it with all your friends and all your clients and everyone that you know. The great thing about the shortened U R.
L is that when a person goes to it straight away it goes to that review section. It's very simple.
You can see straight away I'm opening up that shortened U R. L.
It takes me straight to reviews. I'm gonna review this customer, bang.
And there you go. Keep on using this technique as many times as you can because as we know the more reviews that you get on Google Business Profile the higher up you should go on the search results.
Let me know if this helps you.
