This is the exact process I would follow if I was trying to rank a brand new website on Google or ChatGPT. Start with keyword research. You're looking for medium- to long-tail keywords. The goal with this is to find niche keywords because they're easier to rank for and they normally have a lower keyword difficulty score.
Then you can start working on your on-page optimisation. Each keyword you found should only be targeted by one page on your website. These are the places you should include it on that page.
Your meta title, which is the most important SEO element on the page. Your heading 1 (H1) which should be the first bit of text on the page. Your page's URL, your image names and alt text, in other written text on the page.
You wanna have at least 1x Heading 2 (H2) Really, I'd expect you to have at least 2 or 3 of these, maybe even some Heading 3 (H3) and 4 (H4) For any content SEO, you're just gonna rinse and repeat this formula. Technical SEO. Do not skip this.
If you changed any page URLs in your on-page optimisation, you're gonna need to make sure you redirect the old ones to avoid any broken links. You also need to submit your sitemap on Google Search Console. For bonus points, check your site speed in PageSpeed Insights.
This can affect your site's engagement rate. Off-page SEO. A lot of this work is around link building and social signals.
Make sure your business has social profiles on all of the main platforms. Set up your Google My Business. Submit your Google My Business URL and website URL to all of the local and national directories.
