SEO Specialist, and these are the four things that I implement instantly on any ecommerce website I'm working on. The first is tiered and search driven collection pages. These are so underutilised by ecommerce sites and the ranking and revenue potential is huge.
This is basically taking all of your existing product collection pages and looking for ways you can make niche smaller versions of them. Let's say you sell cake ingredients and you have a collection for sprinkles. You're looking for ways you can make smaller groups like glitter sprinkles, pink sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles.
Second is to add related blog posts as a mini feed to the bottom of your product and collection pages. And then on the blog post you're gonna do the reverse of that by having a mini feed of products related to the blog. Not only does this help with product exposure when people are landing on your blog posts, but it also builds the internal links across your site, which is what you want so that the pages can pass search authority to each other.
Third is following on the same line with internal links, what you're gonna do is go to all of your top performing pages and you're gonna add links to some of the underperformers. My favourite way to do this is with Rank Math's Link Genius feature. Highly recommend it if you've not checked it out already.
It's gonna save you a ton of time in this area. And actually the fourth one, while we're talking about Rank Math, is automating your image SEO. I guarantee you've got a ton of product images and they're probably not optimised.
All you actually need to do for this is go into the general settings Rank Math plugin, go to images, and then you can set your image names and alt text to automatically be the product title or your focus keyword, whichever you're w
ugin, go to images, and then you can set your image names and alt text to automatically be the product title or your focus keyword, whichever you're working with. Thank me later.
