Here's another terrible Google Ads audit that I just did for a doctor in Atlanta. He is a psychiatrist and he came to me and he said he's worried that the person who's running his Google Ads campaign has no idea what he's doing because he's not seeing any movement and he thinks he's just throwing money down the drain. Unfortunately, he's right.
Take a look at this account. The first thing that we look at is his conversions. Now, as you can see over there, it looks like his conversion rate is 50%.
Now if his conversion rate was 50%, he wouldn't be coming to me. So straight away we know that's a problem. If we dig deeper into goals, we can see what the problem actually is.
The guy that is running the campaign for him set up his goals as page views. That's how many people are just clicking on the Contact Us page. That's not a goal conversion and that's not a lead.
It's just a page view. So obviously that's the first problem over there. The second thing is that all his campaigns are running on max conversions.
Now he's telling the system to track contact us page views. Obviously, it's never going to work in a million years. And what Google thinks is a conversion, well, it's not.
And the whole system is just messed up. The next thing that we looked at is his keywords. Most his keywords are either on phrase or Broad so again, I know without a lot of negative keywords which he hasn't got in his campaign he's gonna be picking up rubbish.
Lo and behold when I look at the search term report yes there might be some relevant keywords but straight away if I look through the search term report there are total irrelevant keywords there as well this guy who's doing the campaign for him has not researched the stuff correctly. His tax ads are not set up correctly as well. There are no ne
s well this guy who's doing the campaign for him has not researched the stuff correctly. His tax ads are not set up correctly as well. There are no negative keywords and with maximise conversion bidding he's way overpaying to what he should be.
This is really just another example of an amateur setting up and managing a Google Ads campaign that really should be in trouble because he has no idea what he's doing and he's selling his services as an expert. He's not hopefully we'll be able to fix up this campaign for him and get him up and running.
