One of my favorite local SEO tips is to change your primary category seasonally. So for example, it would be long hair in the summer, snow removal in the winter. A lot of people ask me, won't it trigger a reverification if you change your primary category?

Well, not always. I think that there's three things that happen that might cause a reverification. So one would be if there's something else wrong on the profile.

Like let's say there's something wrong with your address or something wrong with your hours. So it's not actually the change of the category that triggered the reverification. It was just something else in the profile.

The other thing is that if you don't have that content on your website, for example, I change it from long care to snow removal, but then Google crawls the page and says the word snow removal doesn't even exist on the page. Google's like, that doesn't make sense. And so they might trigger reverification that way.

And then the third thing would be if you're changing it to something totally weird, like you went from plumber to restaurant, like that would not check out and Google would probably be like, you need to verify this. But in our SEO services, we actually change the primary category for clients on a fairly regular basis. We have a lot of clients that are doing the seasonal thing, but it doesn't trigger reverification for us.

So I think it must be One of those other things going on. com.
