If you're thinking about running Google Ads or doing search engine optimization, the most fundamental step is keyword research. Without keyword research, you don't know which words to bid on, you don't know how much to bid on and you don't know what the monthly projections are. So you're really just flying blind with regards to search engine optimisation.
If you don't know what those volumes are or what people are searching for, you can't optimise your website for search. Now the most popular tool out there and I use it every single day is the Google Keyword Planner. It's inside of Google Ads and it's 100% free to use and it's also usually the most reliable.
It helps you with doing keyword research where you can get keyword ideas, keyword volumes and projected cost per clicks. But sometimes what happens if you're doing keyword research for other medical terms or for sensitive different type of words, Google hide the data from you. Now take a look at this for example, what I wanna show you, we're doing keyword research for a person that runs an autism school.
As you can see over here in the Google DOC, I've got a whole list of keywords. If I put it into Google Keyword Planner, you'll see that most of that data is empty. Doesn't say no volume, it's just empty and Google are hiding the data from you.
Now if I was only using the Google Keyword Planner tool, all this Information would be blind to me and be very hard to run a Google Ads campaign or do search engine optimisation. Now luckily I have paid for tools that helps me with keyword research specifically when Google hide this data from me, one of the pay tools that I use every day is Semrush. I'm gonna put that same keyword list into Semrush.
Look at this, I can magically now see the data. I can see the projected cost p
very day is Semrush. I'm gonna put that same keyword list into Semrush. Look at this, I can magically now see the data.
I can see the projected cost per clicks, I can see the projected monthly searches. If I never had this keyword research from Semrush, like I said, it would be almost impossible for me to run a good Google Ads campaign. Probably what would happen is that I wouldn't know that there'd be volume so I'd be trying to bid possibly on arbitrary words which would just be a waste of time.
Also with regards to s, C, O, I wouldn't know what to optimise for. The point of this and I just wanted to show it to you that in certain times with certain words and in certain industries the Google Keyword Planner is limited and you have to use premium tools in order to do keyword research properly.
