As the story behind the launch of AI dot com and possibly the most expensive marketing flop ever. com bought the domain AI dot com for $70 million. That is mind boggling.
Apparently the guy who sold it to him bought the domain many years ago for only $100. How's that for a return on investment? com had done is that they built a website to attract people for the launch of their a R.
Agents. Now in order to launch this project, they paid an estimated $10 million to create an ad and play it during the Super Bowl. So they played this ad during the Super Bowl and it was quite a great ad and got a lot of attention.
But look what happened next. The website wasn't good enough and strong enough and secure enough to handle all that traffic. The website crashed.
Can you actually believe that? The website crashed during the Super Bowl when they spent all that money? What do you think about this?
