How do I set up the lighting for my social media videos? I've made close on 700 videos and I've used the same lighting in almost all of them.

I want to show you how simple it actually is and I'm going to show you step by step. The first thing that I want to show you is the room that I'm recording in.

As you can see, it's a simple room. It's got fluorescent lights.

You can see my iPhone put up on a tripod over there connected to my microphone with a simple cable. It's important to note my background, I think is quite simple as well and most importantly, I've got completely black curtains over there that keeps all the light coming in from the windows.

Simple as that. The next thing I'm gonna do is put on a Godox spotlight.

It goes overhead of me as well and you'll see what a difference it makes when I turn it on. There you go.

please stop adding music to the videos that you are creating and showing on social media on TikTok on Facebook on YouTube and all the others there's nothing worse that you looking at a video that someone created and they put effort into it but they put music in the background because they think that's the thing to do half the time you can't hear the person speak because sometimes they don't even have a microphone and the music is literally blocking their voice from coming out it's terrible guys it's a terrible experience you're not this fancy creator that you need either this fancy music or the slow movement whatever the different type of music that you're doing it's really terrible and also it just kills the experience another important thing to know that a lot of people just miss out on if you put a song that's got a copyright you cannot promote that video on most of the social media platforms so again leave out the music it's a terrible experience and will also stop you from promoting those videos just be simple record normally speak normally get your message across that is...

This is how you can connect your Shure m V7 microphone to your iPhone. In the past, people used to struggle connecting the Shure m V7 microphones to their iPhones because the Shure m V7 is a USB microphone.

So you had to connect it to a different power source then to your phone and it was really a big mission. But once the newer iPhones came out with a USB C connection, everything changed.

Now it's very simple. All you have to do is get a cable like this.

I use a cable matters as the brand. It seems to work best.

It has to have a mini USB connection over there and then over here you have the USB C that goes to your phone. Once you connect it straight away and you press on video, you'll see the light comes up on your microphone and it's ready to go.

This has saved me so much time. All my videos I record with my iPhone 16 and I use my Shure m V7.
