If you're wondering whether your business needs to be prioritising AI search visibility, this tip from Cannes Lions is really gonna help you. I was watching a talk yesterday at the Semrush Villa and someone was saying about how not every business needs SEO. If your customers are not using search engines to find you, then why would you need to be visible?
And this same thing can be applied specifically to AI search. So is your business the kind of business that would be recommended by AI search tools? You know, now, in the data that's been coming out over the last year that people are increasingly using AI search to discover products and find service providers.
But you don't see as much of this with local business searches. People are still going to Google and they wanna see the local map pack results. The example from the talk that I saw was about how B2B SaaS tools.
Often people aren't using search engines to find these tools. It tends to be more like a brand awareness thing. So when you're in the industry, you are just aware of the tools.
What you really need to do is dig deep with your customers. You need to think, are they the demographic or person that is using LLMs? Or are they more the sort of people that are going based on referrals, socials, or paid media?
Don't let yourself get wrapped up in all the noise of this if it's not something that's actually gonna benefit your business.
