It just has a few extra safety cards on it. You ask any questions about cyber security or biology will instead route you to Opus 4.8.
Fable is exactly twice the cost of Opus per output token, but it's also much more token efficient. Until June 22nd, you can use it inside of a Claude subscription, a Pro, or a Max plan.
But after that you can only use it through the API. And if you don't know, that cost you 10 to 25 times as much as it does through a subscription now.
It sounds like a eventually anthropic planned to add it permanently to cloud subscriptions, but in the meantime we just have this short window to try it before it be...
