2026-06-10Harry, what do you think about businesses using AI to write their content?

iHarry, what do you think about businesses using AI to write their content? I think that using AI is good, but businesses replacing their content writers with AI, they're about to disappear from Google. The reason might not actually be what you think though.
If you got two brands in the same niche and you got Brand a who just gets rid of all their writers that fire them all and they go AI only and then you got Brand B who keeps their writers but says, hey, we're gonna augment AI. Brand a is gonna pump out 100 articles a month using generic AI and they're gonna be articles like top 10 tips for running or just really generic stuff like that and Google's helpful content now flags those as low value.
So what's gonna happen to brand a is they're gonna lose 70% of their traffic just by putting out shit basically. Brand B is gonna produce a lot less, maybe 10 articles, but real click worthy content with real customer stories or ideally unique data or perspectives, which means it's gonna be AI assisted, not AI only articles like we tested every type of running shoe are gonna outperform by a shitload because of what we call information gain.
Information gain is a difference of what AI knows already versus what new knowledge you're giving it. So if you've got personal experience that you're adding that we tested every shoe, that article is gonna do so much Better. Here's the math.
Brand a spends $0 on writers, but they lose tens of thousands in traffic value. The AI doesn't replace humans, it multiplies them. See, a lot of brands right now firing content team because AI looks cheaper.
That's the wrong move. Yeah, it's cheaper. You can mass produce stuff, but it's gonna kill your visibility long term, especially your AI visibility.
But the brands that use AI to scale with humans in the loop to keep it credible, they're gonna win.
